DID NOT APPEAR FOR AN APPOINTMENT

Unfortunately, it often happens that a patient has made an appointment and then does not show up for the consultation. Patients who stay away more often without giving a reason harm the practice and other patients. Time has been reserved for you and another patient would have liked to come at that time!

Given the fact that this no longer happens occasionally, but too regularly, we have been forced to introduce this rule in accordance with national guidelines (LHV, National Association of General Practitioners).

What do you do if you want to cancel an appointment for a consultation with the GP?

It may happen that you cannot or do not want to go ahead with the appointment. In that case, please call at least 3 hours in advance and let us know that you will not be coming. Another patient can then be scheduled.

What do you do if you want to cancel an appointment for a consultation with the practice nurse or doctor’s assistant?

These appointments usually last 20, but sometimes also 30-40 minutes. These appointments must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance, so we may be able to schedule someone else. Unfortunately, it often happens that a patient makes an appointment and then does not show up. This wastes a lot of time. After all, the arrival has been taken into account!
We can send an invoice if you do not show up without notice.

What happens if you do not cancel (in time)?

If you do not show up without canceling, you will receive an NVZB (Not Showed Without Notice) note in your medical file. This is visible to all employees in practice. If you do not show up for consultation twice a year or do not cancel the appointment with the assistant in time, we are entitled to invoice you for this appointment, in accordance with national guidelines (LHV, National Association of General Practitioners).

We apply the following stay-away rates:

For a single consultation (15 minutes) with a GP or assistant: €15.00
For a double consultation (30 minutes) with the GP: €30.00
For a surgical procedure: €50.00
For a check or examination at the POH: €40.00

This bill is not reimbursed by the health insurer and you must pay it yourself.

The invoice must be paid before making a new appointment.

Of course, we can imagine that something can always happen that prevents you from keeping an appointment. Depending on the time of the appointment, it is also conceivable that it will not be possible to cancel this appointment in advance with the assistant. However, we assume that if the appointment suddenly cannot go ahead, you will try to inform the assistant as soon as possible. We would also like to hear this afterwards. We may then be able to make another appointment immediately or perhaps help you in a different way.
